Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing

Hildene is an historic home built in 1905 by President Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln's son, Robert as a summer residence. The Welcome Center, Museum Store, Pullman Car, Farm, House and exhibits are open year-round 9:30 to 4:30. In the winter months, the Pavilion adjacent to the Welcome Center houses a rental shop. Our approximately 8 miles of walking trails on the estate become ski trails with varying levels of difficulty. Current Conditions

When conditions permit, trails are are open daily 9:30 to 4:30.

March 22, 2015 Snow cover is about 6” or less on upper Hildene trails. Surface is loose and wet. Not ideal for skiing, but good for hiking with traction devices or with good, sturdy, waterproof footwear.

Expect snow conditions to deteriorate with warmer temperatures and rain in the forecast. The hydration station is operating.

Parking is in the main lot adjacent to the Welcome Center. For your safety and so we can be aware that people are on the trails, everyone, including members, must sign in at the Welcome Center. Thank you!
